AdvoCare: My 2nd challenge

So, you guys know that I am all about keeping it real, right?

Well, today is no different.

My second challenge wasn’t awesome.

There, I said it. It feels to good to share that.

Sometimes in life, things don’t go as planned, right?

Oh but wait, the challenge was a success. Don’t get me wrong. . . it just wasn’t as awesome as the first.

Ok, let me explain.

You might remember my reasons for doing a 2nd challenge from this post.

And truth be told, I got every single thing that I wanted out of this challenge.

So, why wasn’t it awesome?

Well, it wasn’t enough. I (like everyone else) wanted more. I wanted to lose more weight and lose more inches. I didn’t just want my  pants to fit better, I wanted to need to go buy new pants because they didn’t fit anymore!

Katie, you are crazy, right?

Yup, I totally am.

from my first challenge. ..

But, I think that’s why I need to keep it real and write it out. Because writing that out, shows me that I am totally crazy.

Because here is the truth..  .

I did another challenge! And it was a total success because:

I didn’t cheat. I shared my experience with Scott. I feel better. I beat my sugar cravings. I saved a ton of money from not going to Caribou every morning for coffee. My pants fit better. I have more energy. I’ve been sleeping better. I’m running faster. I was finally able to increase my squat weight in BODYPUMP. I’ve inspired others to take the AdvoCare challenge and join me on this amazing journey of being healthier.

And now I will continue on with AdvoCare products (spark, catalyst, and O2 Gold) with clean eating – 80/20 because again, let’s be real, we love pizza and cookies and cupcakes. . . but everything in moderation. Winking smile

So, while I don’t have before and after pictures to share with you. . . I do have these pictures that I took during the challenge of me feeling strong, healthy and successful. . .

And I can tell you that I did lose 6.6 pounds and 5 1/2 inches!

And you can bet that I am looking forward to another challenge in January. Who’s with me?

Linking up with Amanda today for Thinking Out Loud!

And a HUGE thank you to my husband for doing a challenge with me and being awesome throughout the whole thing. Psst he lost 7.2 pounds!!

  1. Good for you on turning a negative feeling into a positive. Who cares if you didn’t get to go out & buy new jeans. As long as you look great & feel great, that’s all that matters. <3

  3. 6.6 pounds still sounds like a success to me! I totally forgot to email you (sorry!), but I’m not going to do the November challenge this time around. It seems like it might still be worth doing, but I just can’t swing it right now. 🙁

  5. Good for you for being honest. I think you had some HUGE successes, but I totally understand how much harder they are to measure when you don’t see the improvement you think you should. My post on the challenge is set to go up tomorrow 🙂

Yup it’s all about realistic expectations and remember how awesome you feel – which (for me) is what it’s all about! Can’t wait to read your recap. 🙂

  6. Great honest post….and seriously my 2nd challenge wasn’t as dramatic as my first either but to me that reminded me that my body was used to the healthy lifestyle it learned from the first and it wouldn’t be all about the lbs lost. However your energy, your PR, your inches, how you feel…AWESOME job girl!! Keep up the amazing work!!!!

Thanks Lauren! And yes to the truth about the 2nd challenge and making sure that you are setting realistic expectations. And I LOVE how I am feeling – and that’s what it’s all about. 🙂

  7. This is SO interesting, I was disappointed after my 2nd challenge too!! I think my body was just in so much shock after the first cleanse that the second one was a bit more ‘normal’. Make sense? Just my thoughts 🙂

PS- You look AM-MAZ-BALLS. And 6.6LB … incredible.
