Oh my goodness, I can’t believe I haven’t written a post about this yet.. .
The Mankato YMCA is officially teaching BODY PUMP! You have no idea how exciting this is for me. Next to running, body pump is my second favorite.
For those of you that don’t know about the glorious-ness (yes a word!) that is body pump, let me explain. It is basically an aerobics class with a weighted barbell. It has great music. Good and easy moves. And totally adjustable based on how much weight you put on your weight bar. You basically work one body area per song. A typical class includes the following
1. warm up
10. Cool down
So you get a full body strength workout in an hour. Seriously it is the BEST THING EVER! *disclaimer – next to running, of course!
And as you might remember, becoming a body pump instructor is on my Fitness Bucket List. . . and I am officially signed up for instructor training this weekend!!! I could not be more excited. Seriously, you have no idea! I love teaching aerobics and I love body pump. So so so excited! But I am also totally nervous. It is a full weekend course – 8 hours on Saturday and 10 hours on Sunday. I’ll let you know how the training goes. . . and for any locals – when I am going to start teaching!!! Wish me luck!
