Friday Favorites–Twizzlers and Treadmill

Friday?!?

Time is just flying by. . . but life is good. Smile

Looking forward to another low key weekend around here. The benefit to having a newborn in the winter is that you can stay home and snuggle and not miss out on anything. . .  or at least that is what I am telling myself!

Here are some of my recent favorites. . .

This mug that I got my sister for Christmas. . . and yes “aisle” is spelled wrong. Thankfully the lady that I ordered it from on Etsy sent me a new one. But #truth, right?!

IMG_2931

Movie date.

IMG_2932

The fact that he calls Twizzlers “radishes” for some reason just makes me laugh.

IMG_2934

Playing in the snow.

IMG_2955IMG_2957

How is my boy old enough for chapter books?? I have heard good things about the Magic Tree House books, any other suggestions for a almost 5 year old??

IMG_2965

This.

IMG_2968

Treadmill for the win during baby and puppy nap time.

IMG_2970IMG_2994

Having extra time with Luke in the mornings to play with him at school.

IMG_2978

6 weeks old. SO big!

IMG_2990

Valentine’s Day decorations. It’s no secret that pink is my favorite color so it’s totally my favorite holiday to decorate for. . . my favorite is the hurricane glass filled with candy hearts! So simple and so cute!!

IMG_2998

Alright I’m off to kick off the weekend with coffee Friday (#necessary) and baby snuggles. #momlife

Hope you have a great one! Any plans? Favorites from the week?

Friday Fri-YAY

Happy Friday!!! I am headed into a three day weekend, so I’m pretty excited. . . I also have lots of endorphins flowing right now after teaching BODYPUMP this morning – 84 . . . one of my all time favorites (the release I did my training on!).

IMG_0972

I’m looking forward to getting some projects done around the house, hitting up the Farmer’s Market and going to a local meat market, finally getting my hair cut today, date night with Scott on Saturday and celebrating a delayed Father’s Day with Scott and Luke on Sunday!

Here are a few of the things I’ve been loving this week. . .

This wreath that Laura and I made last weekend.

IMG_0956

I had so much fun wandering around Michael’s with Laura and planning our wreaths out. . . and it makes me smile every time I drive up to the house now. On tap for the weekend: to replace that ugly light fixture!

Hot summer sunshine runs. The weather has been gorgeous this week. High 70s and sunshine. Perfect running weather!

IMG_0960

Impulse buy at the grocery store. These are like crack they are SO good.

IMG_0965

Family ice cream date.

IMG_0967

What about you – what have you been loving this weekend?

And plans for the weekend? Favorites from the week?

Looking for my linkup? I’ve decided to take a break from Friday link ups, but I’m still going to link up Friday fun with Heather!

DIY Pumpkin Flower Vase

So, last week, ProFlowers sent me a beautiful Halloween inspired bouquet of flowers.

IMG_8159

So pretty, right?

IMG_8161

They had asked me to make a DIY pumpkin vase and they would send me some flowers to go in it.

And, honestly, when the flowers arrived, they were so pretty. . . I didn’t want to use the flowers to make the craft!

But, after a few days, I decided that I would give it a try.

And you guys, this was so easy and turned out so adorable!

IMG_8211

It was really easy to make. Just cut a small hole in the top (like you would do if you were carving a pumpkin. Then, scrap some of the insides out. Cut a few flowers to fill the hole in the top. Add water. And done.

IMG_8209

Luke and I delivered it to my Mom for a little Halloween cheer at their house!

IMG_8226IMG_8227

In full disclosure, Luke totally dropped the pumpkin on the way into the house and cracked it!

But, thankfully, it was just a little crack and we were able to put the flowers back in and it held water. .. ahhh life with a three year old helper. . . Winking smile

I will definitely be making this little craft again next year for Halloween!

Thanks ProFlowers for sending me these beautiful flowers!

Luke’s 3rd Birthday Party {fire truck theme}

On Saturday, we had friends and family over to celebrate Luke’s 3rd birthday.

This boy is all about trucks and has been especially loving fire trucks lately. So, this party was everything fire trucks.

A huge thank you to my little sister, Laura, for helping with the party and for making all the decorations. She did such an amazing job. If you are interested in someone making super cute decorations or crafts for an upcoming birthday party or event, just shoot me an email and I’ll get you in touch with her!!

She made this cute welcome sign that I put on the front door.

IMG_5244

Luke was SO excited for his birthday party. It didn’t start until 4, so for the whole day; “Mom, is it my birthday party yet?”

IMG_5239

For the party favors, I bought kids fire chief hats online and then Laura put their names on the back.

IMG_5249

IMG_5251IMG_5254

And then I found these cute puppies online too. And Laura made the adorable sign to go with them.

IMG_5265

And what is a fire truck theme party without some flames. Check out what Laura did on the window!

IMG_5266

IMG_5267

And finally, she made the banner. So adorable. And amazing that I have a sister who is that crafty. Love it!!

IMG_5376

IMG_5379

And OMG, I can’t believe I almost forgot – she also made his shirt! A fire truck with a “3” on it with his name.

IMG_5275

At one point, Scott said to me “Thanks for organizing Luke’s party and for hiring Laura as the party planner.” Winking smile

IMG_5270

And then it was time for the party. . .

play time with friends.

Then, presents.

IMG_5323

And then cake! Jodi made the cake for us again this year and it turned out super cute.

IMG_5365

And all the kids. . .

IMG_5370

It was just wonderful. So much love and friendship for us and Luke. Thanks to everyone for coming and the great afternoon.

After everyone left, we let Luke play with his new toys for a little while and then it was time for bed.. .  while he wanted to take all his new toys with him to bed, we let him pick one. And he picked his new big fire truck.. . And we found him sleeping like this 5 minutes after turning off the lights.

Such a big boy but still my little boy all at the same time. <love>

Friday Favorites: 3/27/15

Friday. Finally. Am I right? Scott and Luke are in WI this week. They got in late last night. Looking forward to checking out some activities around town this weekend, taking a second look at a promising house, and just hanging out with my favorite boys.

Orange spark.

IMG_3462

Ok, so fruit punch is my total favorite, but man, I have just been loving on the orange lately. Especially for before/during my workouts. I fill up a big blender bottle and drink about 1/3 before the workout, 1/3 during and then finish it off after the workout. It’s especially good for early morning workouts. I don’t like to eat anything before working out, especially when it is a 5am class. .. but a little bit of spark is enough to keep my tummy from growling and gives me the energy boost to get it done. Virtual fist bump. Winking smile

This boy.

IMG_4938

He told me “Mom, I’m just going to sit here {on the end of Dad’s trailer} and have a picnic.” Ummm ok, bud, have fun.

Bunny Bait.

IMG_4887

Ok, I have already talked about this trail mix like a bazillion times, but SERIOUSLY. Best stuff ever. We have gone through 3 bags in our house already and it’s not even Easter yet.

Fabletics.

IMG_4946

I cannot even tell you how much I love their leggings. They are simply amazing. They fit perfectly, stay put during the workout, and are just cute. My most recent pair – standard black salar capris.

IMG_4950IMG_4952

This Easter craft Laura and I made with Luke for his first Easter.

Hope you have a great one! Whatcha up to??
