Time for another foodie pen pal!
It has been a while since I have done one. . . the last time was October!
New to the party??? Check out the details here!
This month my pen pal was a reader, Chris, who is actually from MN too. It was really fun to see what another Minnesota person would send in their box.
I got pancake mix and syrup. Both from MN! And of course, a local fav – wild rice soup. Perfect for our cold MN spring we are having.
And yummy candy from a local place too –Abdallah – actually just down the road from where Scott’s parent’s live in Burnsville. I had never had their chocolate before so it was fun to have it! If you are local- it was delicious.
I sent my package to Walla Walla in Washington. Wanna see what I sent to my pen pal? Check out Megan’s blog Little House, Big Love for details!

This month, my box came from Sally in Nebraska.
She sent hot chocolate – for cold MN nights!
LUNA bars –> Love!
And chocolate – I love love love Lindor, white chocolate and sea salt caramel so I was super excited to see both of these!
Halloween cupcake holders!!!
Seasoning and salad dressing made in Nebraska.
And here is what I sent in my box to a reader in North Carolina. . .
Halloween Trail Mix!
The best tomato soup EVER – and the best PB ever!
Already looking forward to next month!!!
PS: Happy Halloween! Warning- cute baby pics in his costume tomorrow!
I posted on Monday about MY foodie pen pal for September and all the awesome stuff I got in my box. . .
But you didn’t get to hear about what I sent! I sent my box to another reader – so no blog post to see it on. . . Michele is a reader in Michigan who was a first time participant!
And here is what she got from me. . .
Laffy Taffy – just ‘cause I love the dumb jokes on the wrappers!
Yogurt covered almonds. . . so delicious! (And Luke was a good helper putting the box together!)
RPSs – my favorite thing from my foodie box last month so had to spread the RPS joy!
oh my goodness – these things are ridiculously delicious. Salads, yogurt, ice cream!
Hot pepper jelly – perfect with crackers and a smear of cream cheese. Apple chutney – paired with yogurt or ice cream or over pork chops. Both fresh and local from the Mankato Farmer’s Market.
And a cute cupcake card!
Already thinking about what I am going to send me pen pal for October. . . something Halloween related I think!!!
Another month, another foodie pen pal. After my great experience with August, I decided to participate again!
This time my foodie pen pal was from Puerto Rico! Check out the super cute mailing label she made!
Ilka was super friendly and sent me a great box.
She told me that her daughter, Ilka Vanessa, and her had lots of fun putting it together.
And here is what was in my box this month. . .
Ilka works as a Spanish teacher at “SESO” and sent me a coffee mug. . .
Along with coffee! And she put super cute notes on everything.
Galletas .. . apparently perfect with anything from coffee to cheese whiz!
And a cute burp cloth for Luke – so adorable!
And perhaps the thing I am the most excited about! A tostonera … to make tostones – fried plantains.
You put the slices plantains in the tostonera to flatten then before frying!
Everything all together!
Thank you thank you thank you Ilka (and Ilka Vanessa!) for this super awesome and amazing box. I am so excited to try everything. I can tell you both put a lot of time, thought and effort into putting this box together and it is very appreciated. The little gift for Luke was especially thoughtful. I hope your foodie pen pal box was just as awesome!
