Friday Favorites: Bumpin’ in Charleston

Hey hey – Happy Fri- YAY!

I have to work all weekend long but that’s totally ok, because Scott and I just got back from a long weekend in Charleston, South Carolina. I was there for a medical conference and Scott tagged along. My Mom came and watched Luke and they had so. much. fun. And Scott and I enjoyed extra sleep, good food and quality conversation and time together. It was perfect. I think I took a total of 3 pictures. . .

Tour of Fort Sumter.

34 weeks.

Checking out the harbor and watching the dolphins swim.

Food highlights include Lewis BBQ {get the brisket}, King Street Cookies {two words – s’mores cookie}, Old Village Post House {delicious steak}, Another Broken Egg {get the biscuit beignets}, 82 Queen {brunch!}.

And I can’t believe I never shared any Halloween pictures. ..

And doesn’t Halloween seem like forever ago already??

And how is Thanksgiving next week?? This pregnant lady is SO excited for Thanksgiving dinner. I’m most excited for mashed potatoes and gravy. . . and pie. . . and Jennie-O sent me another turkey to make for Thanksgiving this year.

We made it last year and it was SO good. Juicy and delicious.

And SO easy to make!

Other life stuff. . .

I just finished this book and I can’t recommend it enough. SO good!

Trying to find a diaper bag..  . I think this one might be a winner.. .

Every night in our house. Candles forever.

I totally went out of my comfort zone with grey nails. And I love them!

And this latest package from Krusteaz makes me SO excited for Holiday baking!! This baby better stay in until I have a chance to get some baking done! Winking smile

I know Luke and I are going to have some fun with these decorating edible frosting pens!

And I’m still teaching BODYPUMP twice per week and loving it. Fingers crossed that I continue to feel good and can keep teaching until the end! I picked up  these old navy maternity workout pants a few weeks ago. love the subtle design and they are super comfy.

Weekending. . .

Monday! I had to work all weekend, so today is my day off. ..

I kicked it off with BODYPUMP 98 at the YMCA with Chris.

Planning to make fruit pizza, hopefully go for a run (I haven’t been able to run since the car accident because of my chest hurting!), visiting a friend who just had a baby (and taking her Tator Tot hot dish), and taking Luke to swimming lessons!

Luke and Scott had lots of fun hanging out while I was at work. ..

They went to a fire station open house.

I asked Scott to take a “belly” pic for me. . . and this is what I got:

And then I made him take this one instead. Winking smile 18 weeks!

Family walk before work on Sunday.

They made chocolate cake + a huge mess.

And we had time for a Mexican date night.

And now. . . off to tackle my to-do list!

Hope you had a great one. . . what were you up to?

8 years!

Today, is our 8 year anniversary!

The last year certainly had it’s challenges: new job, new houses, living in two different states, losing my Dad. . .

And I’m happy to say that we came out of it as a stronger team.

I’m going to get sappy for a minute and say that I cannot believe that I got so lucky to have an amazing husband, father and best friend in my life. And that I am looking forward to many more years together.

Friday Favorites: Back from the silence!

Whew. Friday already?

Heck yes is all I have to say about that. Love short Holiday weeks!

I also can’t believe that I haven’t blogged in for-ev-er.

I didn’t mean to take a break, but you know, life just happens sometimes!

I turned 34 and celebrated with a night out with Scott at a fancy hotel and a super nice steak dinner at Manny’s <– SO good.

We spent the weekend at the Lake.

I completed my goals for the long weekend . . .

read 2 books. both excellent!

and spend time on the Lake.

We took long boat rides, jumped on the new water trampoline and it was perfect.

And Laura made my birthday ice cream cake. holy yum!

Then, we did some work around my Mom’s house in the cities to get it ready to go on the market soon

And celebrated my Dad’s birthday – he would have been 60! this year – with his favorite dessert – pound cake, strawberries and tons of whip cream.

Back home to laundry, grocery shopping, work and real life.

And if you need a laugh … check out this video – hilarious!

34th birthday wish list. . .

My poor husband.

The guy has to get me something for Mother’s Day, my birthday (May 26th) and our anniversary (June 7th) all within 6 weeks of each other.

He’s usually pretty smart and asks for a list. . . he is also super good at listening and remembering, so he’s had some good “off the list” presents too.

I love to see what other people are buying/getting or just on their wish list. . . so I thought I’d share what’s on my Mother’s Day/birthday/anniversary or just Happy Thursday to me list. . . Smile

Kate Spade purses. . .

I am in love with this one (in black)

and this one (in pink). . .

pink purse

Leather strap watch. . .  Fossil has nice ones

like this one.

or this one.

Feetures. . . aka my favorite socks ever.

Couch pillows to match our ottoman

New workout gear. . .a girl always needs more. Smile

like my favorite shorts ever.

Tracker Short IV

Super simple tank with a little peekaboo in the back.

Salute The Sun Singlet II HBJC 2

This is my all time favorite scarf and while I’d love to own it in every color, it’s a bit too spendy. . . which makes it a really nice birthday present!

Vinyasa Scarf

Panera gift card. Because Panera and it has a drive thru. Winking smile

Image result for panera

A gift card for a facial. Oh man, I looooove facials but I hardly ever get them because I have a hard time justifying the cost . ..  so it would be a nice treat!

A trip to fro yo with Lukie. Smile

This shirt. So cute, right?

"DOGS" Women's Basic T-Shirt

What’s on your current wish list??

First of all – HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my amazing husband.

35 years today! Looking forward to dinner and birthday cake with friends tonight to celebrate.

And now, I need your help! I have a wedding coming up in April + the rehearsal dinner and I need something to wear for both events. I’ve heard good things about Rent the Runway and decided this might be a good time to check it out. But there are SO many options to choose from!! Help me pick??

Option #1 – ML Monique Lhuillier – gravitate towards you sheath ($30)

Option #2 – Slate & Willow – Navy Petal Dress ($40)

Option #3 – ML Monique Lhuillier – French Kiss Frock ($45)

Option #4 – Slate & Willow – Amy dress ($40)

Option #5 – Yoana Baraschi – Pepin Sheath ($65)

Option #6 – Carmen Marc Valvo – Rosette Envelope Dress ($70)

Option #7 – ML Monique Lhuillier – Ring Around Dress ($75)

Option #8 –  Badgley Mischka – Flora Chiffon Gown ($70)

Option #9 – Nicole Miller – Felicity Gown

Option #10 – Shoshanna – Mia Maxi ($70)

Ok, so now I need your top 2 picks – one for the rehearsal dinner and one for the wedding. Smile

And now off to the weekend!

Plans for the weekend include teaching pump tomorrow morning (8:15am at the YMCA!), painting the upstairs bedroom, and finally getting some things put up on the walls downstairs! Also, it’s supposed to be super nice, so I am going to pick up a few steaks for grilling on Saturday.

Weekending. . . Valentine’s Day

Oh Monday . . .

Am I right?

Oh well, at least it was a good weekend around here!

I kicked off the weekend with my first run of half marathon training.

I haven’t actually signed up for a race yet . . . thinking the Eau Claire half marathon in May, but figured I should start getting in some more miles.

Coffee surprise from the husband. Made my day.

Luke and I got ready to go visit Grandma Mary.

Scott, Luke and I went out to dinner with her on Friday night.

Kicked off Saturday with a BODYPUMP class. Went back a few releases to 90 – love that triceps track. Any P!NK song is a winner in my book.

Afternoon movie.

Trip to TJ’s.

Picked up some dangerous things.

Including these. . .

Valentine’s morning.

Low key Sunday = lots of Scandal + laundry. Seriously, that show is SO addicting. On Season 4 now.

And a Valentine’s Day dinner courtesy of my amazing husband.

My favorite’s – grilled steak, roasted asparagus and

these sweet potato tots.

And Abby always puts herself to bed about 9pm. Cutest thing ever.

Hope you had a great one. . . what were you up to?

NYE + life these last few days

Tuesday already? Life needs to slow down just a bit. . .

You guys already heard about my very exciting NYE – sparkling apple cider (that stuff is awesome) cheers with my boys.

Papa Murphy’s pizza + Asti + Netflix = perfection . ..

and yes, as Chris pointed out, not a whole lot different than our typical Saturday night, but the Asti was a nice addition. Smile

I was at work on New Year’s Day, but got lots of pictures from home.

And this. .. the blanket fell off the back of the couch and onto Abby and she just went with it.

Kicked off the weekend teaching BODYPUMP with some of my favorite people.

Followed by play d’oh and coffee.

And a quick treadmill run.

Afternoon movie time = popcorn + selfies.

And finished the evening with more of this. So good.

Sunday was projects around the house.

Plus snuggles + selfies.

And more fun pictures while I was at work. . .

And this ah-mazing Hello Fresh meal.

Steak au Poivre with cheesy hasselback potatoes, creamed kale and shallot-peppercorn sauce. Seriously, probably the best one yet! And yourself a huge favor and use this code: QTHC5N to get $40 OFF your first box.

Whew. It’s been a busy few days. Looking forward to a little routine over the next few days. . . school, work, laundry, dinner, bodypump, etc. . .

What have you been up to??
