Influenster–Mom Vox Box

As part of the Influenster program, occasionally they send me fun stuff to check out and I thought I’d share my most recent one –> the Super Mom Vox Box.

Palmolive Fusion Clean with Baking Soda and Lime . . .

yup, so even though I am totally an adult, I can’t get too excited about dish soap. That being said, I do love the smell of this stuff and it seems to work great – especially on those baking sheets with tons of stuck on food.

Suave Kids Purely Fun – No tears = winning.

Anyone who has a kid knows about the melt down that happens when soap gets into the eyes. . . and I don’t blame them, it’s no fun. This one is so gentle and 3 in 1 means it goes on the whole body. Done and done. And I promise that Luke is not bathing in tar. . .it’s purple food coloring. Winking smile

Plackers Flossers  – for some reason Luke loves flossing with these.. . I don’t know if it’s the kid friendly grip or the flavor, but whatever it is #winning.

Fingers crossed that it shows at his upcoming dentist appointment!

Secret Outlast Xtend Invisible Solid – I actually really like that they sent me a little travel size.

This guy went right into my travel bathroom bag. And I’ve used it every weekend at the Lake this summer. It’s a winner.

Pilot Acroball Pens – I love any pen that does not smear and writes smoothly. And this one gets a check mark on both of those. It’s been my go-to pen lately.

Always fun to try out new products, right?! Have you tried any winners lately??

DIY Pumpkin Flower Vase

So, last week, ProFlowers sent me a beautiful Halloween inspired bouquet of flowers.

So pretty, right?

They had asked me to make a DIY pumpkin vase and they would send me some flowers to go in it.

And, honestly, when the flowers arrived, they were so pretty. . . I didn’t want to use the flowers to make the craft!

But, after a few days, I decided that I would give it a try.

And you guys, this was so easy and turned out so adorable!

It was really easy to make. Just cut a small hole in the top (like you would do if you were carving a pumpkin. Then, scrap some of the insides out. Cut a few flowers to fill the hole in the top. Add water. And done.

Luke and I delivered it to my Mom for a little Halloween cheer at their house!

In full disclosure, Luke totally dropped the pumpkin on the way into the house and cracked it!

But, thankfully, it was just a little crack and we were able to put the flowers back in and it held water. .. ahhh life with a three year old helper. . . Winking smile

I will definitely be making this little craft again next year for Halloween!

Thanks ProFlowers for sending me these beautiful flowers!

Linking up with Becky for Treat Yourself Tuesday .. . because flowers and crafts are definitely treats!!

Clean eating (no sugar!) oatmeal cookies

This post is sponsored by Almond Breeze Almondmilk

So, you guys know I am in the middle of another 24 day challenge. .. and it’s going really well! But, the weekends are tough. That’s usually when we eat sweet treats – cookies, cakes, bars, etc. So, I was looking to make a little something to eat after dinner on Saturday night. I used recipe inspiration from a version that was posted on my AdvoCare’s group Facebook page (there are over 2,000 members!) and came up with my own version.

3 mashed ripe bananas
1/2 cup natural applesauce
2 1/2 cups oatmeal
1/4 cup Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Almondmilk Original
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1 t vanilla
1 t cinnamon

Mix all ingredients together. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Linking up with Becky for Treat Yourself Tuesday. This recipe totally qualifies. Smile

Weekend Update: 3/29/15

The last Monday of March? How did that happen? Craziness.

Kicked off the weekend with a walk and play time at the park.

And we came home to the most wonderful box of treats from Shari’s Berries. . . strawberries, Oreos and cheesecake. SO good. Rocky Road and White Chocolate amazingness.

Totally kicked cross fit bootay on Saturday morning. . . row, push press, box jumps, ring rows and wall balls. Killer. Pic from my Instagram. . .

Then, more house hunting = caribou + selfies.

Plus finally got some Cadbury mini eggs. . . just a small bag, because I cannot be trusted. Winking smile

Nap time cuteness.

Sunday = more play time. Checking out new parks.

Followed by Dairy Queen. And the biggest blizzards ever.

And topped off the weekend with dinner with my family at Texas Roadhouse.

How was your weekend?? What was the best part?

And because it was pretty marvelous, I am linking up with Katie (and Erin) for Marvelous in my Monday!

Breakfast Night

Breakfast for dinner is one of my favorites.

It tends to be quick, easy, delicious and a family winner.

When Krusteaz contacted me to participate in #BreakfastNight, I was all in. And they hooked me up with some great mixes.

First up to try: Blueberry!

One of my favorite things about the Krusteaz mixes is that all you have to add is water! Super easy.

Another bonus to breakfast for dinner = Luke can totally help.

And Scott can do the cooking. Win – win. Smile

Pancakes + fruit = quick and easy dinner . . .

But the best part is the syrup. Luke loves to help. . . very serious business to make sure each piece gets an equal amount of syrup.

And Krusteaz  has offered to do a giveaway for R4C readers –>

Giveaway includes Krusteaz mixes: Buttermilk Pancake Mix (1), Blueberry Belgian Waffle Mix (1), Chocolate Chunk Muffin Mix (1) and Honey Wheat Pancake Mix (1) as well as Krusteaz coupons for free product

Awesome, right?

My #TLCVoxBox

So, it happened.

I was sent wrinkle cream (AVON Anew Reversalist Express Wrinkle Smoother) to review.

It was bound to happen sometime.

But, really, the week after my 32nd birthday Influenster?

Scott thought it was hilarious.

And then started making the AARP jokes. . .

Anyway, Influester sent me the latest VoxBox to review – full of stuff for Moms.

And besides the wrinkle cream. . . it was filled with some good stuff.

Ummmm coupon for free Breyer’s gelato indulgences? Yes please. And thank you.

Pretty much raced to the grocery store – aka made Scott take me to the grocery store on our anniversary, so I could pick some up. Raspberry cheesecake for the win.

The cheesecake gelato = yummy. The raspberry swirl – a little too artificial flavor for me. The graham cracker topping = only on the top. . .

which means that this totally happened.

Yup, I’m that girl. Winking smile

I’ve also been known to take one bite out of a piece of chocolate in those box of chocolates and then put it back and pick another one because I didn’t like it. Yup, Scott loves me a lot. Smile

And Influenster is totally recording my house. I had just said to Scott that we needed to get some sort of spray for Luke for his bumps and scrapes – kid is so busy and such a boy that every day he has a new one.

Enter Neosporin Neo To Go! It’s a no touch, no sting spray that is for infection protection as well as pain relief.

That is getting added to the diaper bag and I’m getting like 6 more for the cars, our medicine cabinet and the Lake.

And there was a pack of Puffs To Go. Perfect for my purse. But you know where I really need these? The jogging stroller. Anyone else’s nose run when they go running? Not to mention that Luke usually makes some sort of mess with the snacks I give him in the stroller to eat while we are out. . .

and an Ivory Bar soap = literally the first thing I put in our new bathroom now that it is finally done.

Great timing – they just finished up the tiling in the master shower. . . and don’t even get me started about how excited I am to take a huge bubble bath in that soaker tub. Smile

Thanks for sending me an awesome box Influenster!!

Have you gotten anything cool in the mail? Or tried any cool new products? I think my favorite thing from this box is the Neosporin Neo To Go. I am literally going to buy 6 so I have one in every location. #necessary #toddlerproblems

Earth Day–It’s all about Balance

Happy Earth Day!!

To celebrate Earth Day, the wonderful people from Balance Bar and JR Watkins natural cleaning products company, sent me a wonderful “Spring Cleaning Kit.”- to clean up both diet and home.

While people traditionally consider Spring Cleaning to mean window washing, shower scrubbing and more, BALANCE BAR is celebrating the change in season by setting the refresh button and “cleaning up” some of our bad eating habits and introducing some healthier habits – including healthy snacking! –> totally what I am doing with my Advocare challenge!

This was perfect for me to go through the pantry/fridge/freezer with these tips before moving! Cleaned out pantry = less stuff to move = happy husband.

Now, I am not eating the Balance bars while I am doing the challenge because they aren’t challenge friendly (processed and they have dairy).  .. but before (and for sure after),  I love Balance bars for a quick breakfast on my way to work. Best enjoyed with a caramel skim latte (IMHO).  They are gluten free, an excellent source of antioxidants (Vitamins A, C, E), certified kosher dairy and feature 13 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber per serving.

From Balance Bars –> “As with all Balance Bar products, the new Dark line follows the 40-30-30 nutrition principle – a proven formula developed by scientists to help stabilize blood sugar levels that represents the caloric ratio the body needs to enjoy lasting balanced energy and satisfy hunger for longer; 40% of total calories from carbs, 30% from quality protein and 30% from dietary fat.”

And, of course, with the new house, cleaning supplies are much needed. Have you guys ever tried this stuff? Amazing!

I love the white tea and bamboo scent. clean and fresh.

The all purpose cleaner is perfect for the kitchen. .. I love using it on my counters.

And with all natural ingredients, I don’t have to worry about chemical exposure to Luke. It cleans appliances, fixtures, counter tops, floors, tile, woodwork, sinks and walls. You wouldn’t normally think that you would need a cleaner that is appropriate for walls, but once you have a 2 year old. . . it is a necessity! Winking smile

And now, are you ready for a great giveaway???

Balance Bar and JR Watkins have offered to give one lucky R4C reader (sorry United States only) the same box of goodies that I was sent – balance bars and cleaning products!

Awesome, right?

There are 4 ways to enter. Please make sure to leave a separate comment below for each entry.

1 –> leave a comment below telling me what you would be most excited about in the box when it showed up on your doorstep!

2 –> Follow Balance Bar and Running4Cupcakes on Twitter.

3 –> Follow Balance Bar and Running4Cupcakes on Facebook.

4 –> Tweet the following with a link back to this post:
I want to win a box of @BalanceBar from @runs4cupcakes *insert link*

Good luck!

Friday Favorites: 4/11/14 {+Feetures! giveaway}

Yippeeeeeeee! Happy Friday. 🙂

I am SO excited.

We are moving into the new house this weekend.

I’m trying not to think of all the little things that still need to be done and focusing on the big picture = that on Sunday night, I will be sleeping in the new house! Smile

So, that’s it. That is what is going on in my life this weekend. What are you up to?

Here are my favs from this week. . . (feel free to play along and link up with your blog post too!)

Moving into the new house! <– of course this is favorite #1!!

Being done with the fiber drink and onto Max Phase. I still think that fiber drink is probably one of the worst things ever. . . so happy to be done with it and onto the next phase. Update coming soon.

Almond butter.

I just found out that the local co-op in St. Peter has grind your own almond and peanut butter. I bought a small container on Sunday to check out. Finished it with a spoon on Wednesday and stopped on my way home Wednesday night to buy more! It’s my favorite on a banana or with a spoon. Winking smile

Taught it for the first time on Wednesday night. It’s different than any other BP release, which is awesome for changing it up and continuing to challenge your self (you have to challenge yourself to change yourself!). I always get super nervous when I teach a new release for the first time and feel so good when it is over and when it goes well. Check and check. Looking forward to teaching it again next week!

Feetures! socks –> do you remember when I first talked about Feetures!?

and how much I loved them?

Well, I still do. They are my all time favorite sock. (Becky agrees with me too!)

I literally get sad when I realize that they are all in the laundry. #firstworldsockproblems

Well, the nice people at Feetures! sent me some more pairs to check out from their spring line. Love the bright colors –> pink is my favorite (of course!). I wear them spinning, running, lounging around the house, painting, moving, yup, basically all the time. . .

Well, I have an awesome giveaway from Feetures!

–> one lucky R4C reader will receive a pair of Feetures! socks.

Awesome, right?
