I am totally stealing from Olives ‘n’ Wine and declaring today wine-day! Who’s with me?
Over some ah-mazing desserts from Patisserie 46, we learned all about their family owned wine business. They have vineyards and wineries in Argentina and Chile but bring their fabulous wine here to sell locally. I don’t know too much about wines, but thankfully I had Olives ‘n’ Wine with me to do all the questioning. I learned so much from both Becky and Teresa!!
After a great conversation, Teresa was kind enough to give us 4 bottles of wine. Becky ended up with the The Famiglia Meschini Malbec Reserva and the Unoaked Chardonnay. You can see her review of those wines here! And Melanie took the Pinor Noir. To see what she thought of her wine, check it out here. And I got the Torrontes Premium.
According to Teresa as well as the website, this wine has a little bit of bubbles in it and is a perfect wine to get the party started, to drink with dessert or really anytime! My kind of wine. . .
I never seemed to have a good occasion to open the bottle this summer and then things got busy this fall with selling our house, starting to build the new house, and moving. . . but thankfully, I came across this bottle right before Thanksgiving, and decided that it was the perfect occasion to check it out.
So, total disclaimer, I am not a huge wine drinker. Red wine is way too dry for me, so I prefer white. Add bubbles –> even better! So this wine was right up my alley with a bit of bubbles. It was drier than I was expecting, and also not as sweet. Laura’s boyfriend, Tom, really liked it! And Scott drank 2 glasses of it. I agree with the recommendation that it is a great wine to drink before dinner with appetizers.
Are you a wine drinker? Red or white? My absolute favorite is Asti – sweet and bubbly.
