Friday Favorites: 3/14/14

Happy Friday!!! Per usual, I am super excited. Laura is coming down this weekend. We have a bunch of freezer meals we are going to make together, plans for a fro yo trip, and more work on the new house. I’ll make sure to take some progress update pictures for you – the appliances are in, tile floors are being put down, the kitchen cabinets went in this week! It is all so very exciting. And nice to see it finally coming together.

Here are my favorites from this week. . .

Thankful for my body –> I did something to my wrist last weekend, maybe painting? And then it killed during the chest track in bodypump. And then ached all night long. I spent the next day with ice on it and taking ibuprofen like it’s my job.

Thankfully, it seems to be healing quickly. I didn’t do the chest track on Wednesday, just taught it and corrected form and have been trying to keep ice on it as much as possible. But, it just reminds me how much I take my body for granted. It gets me through my work week, running, teaching bodypump, taking care of Luke and building (ok. . . helping) the new house. I think it is important to step back sometimes and be grateful of how much our bodies do for us.

Birthday dinner –> On Tuesday it was Scott’s 33rd birthday. So, I surprised him with a babysitter so we could go out to dinner.

He got to pick the restaurant – his fav – 5 Guys. And we had a great dinner and conversation over burgers and their amazing Cajun fries.

Leaving work and coming out to this. . . the sun shinning and warmer weather. I still hate daylight savings time, but I do like the result.

Way brought it for lunch last weekend. I think it’s from Sam’s (maybe Costco?). So good.

The fact that Luke is old enough (tall enough) to ride on the cart like this. . . seriously, can someone please slow down time?

Celery. Random, party of one? Yup, that’s me. For some reason, I have just been loving it lately!! But don’t put it in juice, right Becky?

  8. I never really liked burgers until I got pregnant & then I craved them all the time. 5 guys reminds me of my pregnancy! 🙂 happy memories. & I still love burgers. Funny how our cravings & food loves change during pregnancy, right? I hope Scott had a wonderful birthday!

    And the extra light in the evenings is fabulous!! Only, it does have Atlas a little out of whack but I’ll take a slightly later bed time due to more sunlight.

    & love the family run!! You guys are too cute! Who pushes the stroller? Dave & I will be flipping a coin when we set out for our first family run. Lol

  9. Love your Friday Favorites!!! Five guys is SOOOOO good! I wish Scott liked spicy because the cajun fries sound amazing! He’s a baby when it comes to spices 🙂 I have also been LOVING this warm weather! We finally got to open a couple windows and let in some fresh air…. apartment living, BOO no air circulation.
    This weekend I’m mostly working but I do have Sunday off so there will be some working out who knows what else. Probably nothing that I should be doing…. cleaning…. homework.

  10. That’s odd… I have been loving celery lately, too. It doesn’t need to have anything on it, I don’t want to dip it in anything. I just. want. to. eat. it.
    I do take my body for granted a lot… thank you for the reminder to be thankful. Hopefully Luke enjoyed his time in the stroller while you ran!

  11. It wasn’t until the past year that I had to step back and really take a look at my health, and I realized too that it’s so easy and common for me to take my body/good health for granted. In reality, there’s so much to be thankful for!!
