Friday Favorites: 5/2/14

Happy Friday!! I am super excited about this weekend – we are having Luke’s 2nd birthday party on Saturday. I am excited to have friends and family over to help Luke celebrate and eat cake! Other than that, we are continuing to get things done around the house, unpacking boxes, hanging pictures and shelves and continuing to get settled. It is definitely starting to feel like home. And I love it. Smile

Here are my favorites from this week. . .

My first big jug of Spark – fruit punch! Grape is on it’s way next. My 2 favorite flavors. Still drinking it every morning instead of coffee. Really, I just prefer it. It makes me feel better than my daily latte every did.

Luke’s 1st nap on the couch. With Abby. #adorabletimestwo

Teaching BODYPUMP 88 this week. It’s been a little while since I’ve taught it and man, that is a great release and super good workout.

Sunglasses = too cool for school.

Big boy underwear.

Big @ss salads.

I am still continuing with clean eating after my challenge ended last week. I probably ate my body weight in pizza and cookies last weekend and my body remembered how crappy I feel after eating like that. So, Monday morning back to clean eating – also supporting Laura with her first challenge by clean eating and using spark in the mornings.

And I have been using this super easy clean salad dressing:
1/3 cup OJ
2 T balsamic vinegar
salt and pepper to taste.

Tell me one of your favorite things from this week! And what are your weekend plans?

Ooooh that salad looks delicious! And the dressing sounds really good too! I will have to add that to my recipe book! My favorite thing from this week was a mani/pedi on Wednesday! I special treat to myself! This weekend I have THREE bridal showers, all for me. It will be a busy weekend! Happy birthday Luke! Have fun celebrating! 🙂

whoa – super busy weekend. Do you have different outfits for all three?

      • Sara

Yes, I have three different dresses. They were on sale so couldn’t pass em’ up! I love a good deal! I’ll be posting Instagram pics for sure! 😉

  3. Love that salad dressing idea! I’ve been looking for new salad dressing options now that I’m on the 24DC, because I’m starting to get sick of plain old balsamic and vinegar! I might have to steal this idea as a base for dressings!

  7. My favorite part of this week was spending time with some friends I hadn’t seen in a long time the last two nights. I’m definitely feeling the lack of sleep today though! I wish I was still young and could stay up late and not be tired the next day!
All I know that we are doing this weekend so far is watching the Derby tomorrow. I love that thing!

Ha! Don’t get too excited. There is a pull up under the underwear. .. just starting to get used to the concept. 🙂

  9. I hope the party goes fantastic and that you all have a blast!!

So far my fave spark is the pink lemonade. So yummy! I’m glad to know that it is easy to continue on with the healthy eating after the 24DC. Always a plus to be able to keep up the new healthy habits!

  10. Loving all of this … especially the fact you’ve replaced your latte!! That’s huge!! My favorite part of my week was definitely sleeping. I didn’t get enough because of work stuff, so I cherished my time under the sheets 🙂

This weekend I will be subbing bootcamp and spin in the morning and getting a pedicure on Sunday. #treatYOself

  14. Mmm, a big booty salad, yum. You know what I realized my salads are missing? Chick peas. Or garbanzo beans, depending on where you are. I said something about chick peas to my mom in the store the other day and this lady turned around and was like “Chicken pee! What?” so I had to explain that I meant garbanzo beans. Anyway, I have canned chick peas on my grocery list. Do you like them in your salads too?

Also, I’m a mom to 2 boys and big boy underwear is so preciously cute. I bet my kids will hate that when they get older though. Hearing about their precious little underpants.

This is my first time linking up with you, and can I say how much I like your blog? I found you by Googling Jamberry (I’m a new independent consultant) .

Oh man, I unfortunately, hate all beans – include chick peas. I really really wish I didn’t because they are such a good way to get extra protein and fiber in your diet! Woo hoo for Jamberry!! And thanks for linking up. 🙂

  15. Belated happy birthday, Luke! I was thinking of switching to Spark as well from my coffee. Does it taste good? Also, Thank you for sharing a recipe of your dressing!
