Friday Favorites: 9/6/13

Happy Friday!! After a super short week, it is nice that it is Friday and almost the weekend again, right?

We are just hanging around home this weekend. .. on my to-do list: Farmer’s market, play time and dinner with friends tonight, half marathon training *officially* starts this weekend with a 7 mile run, practice BODYPUMP 87 (that lunge track is killer!), and make fruit pizza!!

Here are some of my recent favorites to share with you on this lovely Friday. . .

Friends. Aren’t friends just the best? I am incredibly lucky to have a great group of girlfriends that are always there for me when I need them. And it doesn’t hurt that they love Luke almost as much as I do. Smile

Cookie butter. Why did it take so long for me to get a jar of this stuff? I know it shows me eating it with graham crackers (super good) but lets be real- this jar was mostly eaten with a spoon. Winking smile

I was loving these frozen drinks at the Lake this year. They are so easy too – just throw them in the freezer and after a few hours you have a perfect adult slushie drink.

  3. I still have yet to try the cookie butter. I hear it’s dangerously delicious! We are having another heat wave this weekend so will be indoors mostly. Heading to my SIL’s baby shower tomorrow that I’m looking forward to!

      Careful, cookie butter is so dangerous, I don’t think I can have another jar in my house for a very long time!! Stay cool this weekend.

    Body Pump 87 is the best one yet! Wide and WIDER Squats!
    Cookie butter – now that doesn’t sound on ounce healthy! : ) Love your blog.

      I think BP 87 is a good release – lunges are tough!! And I love the wide and wider squats too. 🙂 Thanks for reading Chris!! And you are totally right, cookie butter is not healthy at all! But delicious. 😉

  6. I have to get some of that Cookie Butter, although I don’t think it would last very long! Sounds like the perfect post long run treat!! YUM! And my girls love to follow me around when I vacuum with their little toy vacuum. Really need to invest in a small, working vacuum so I can put their enthusiasm to good use!

    This is a crime, I know, but I have had a jar of Cookie Butter in my house (I’ve never tried it) for a month without cracking it open. I don’t know what to do with it and I don’t want to waste it since everyone makes such a big deal out of it!

      Confession – the cookie butter sat in our pantry for about 6 months, before I realized that it was going to expire soon and prompted me to start eating it!!

  12. Random question about body pump… how do the coaches (and you!) decide which one to use in a class? I’m always confused by how they change it up each time!

      Great question! BODYPUMP instructors can pretty much teach any release that they want to. . . It depends on when they trained for how many releases they know. Like I trained on 84, so I know 84, 85, 86 and now 87. I also went back and learned 82 and 83. So, when I teach, I can do any of those releases or switch it up even more and do a different track from each release. Some clubs are a little more picky as to what their instructors teach and when. At the YMCA, we all have to be ready to teach the newest release at the same time, so that it is fair to all classes. So, that’s why I have been practicing 87, so I am ready to teach with everyone else. 🙂
