Google Analytics

Hey guys, I have another blog tip for you. . . basically all of my tips are things that I have struggled to figure out and finally have! and want to share the blog love. Smile Previous tips have been about comment reply notification and making social media buttons.

Well the latest thing I have figured out (with Becky’s help!!) is the Google Analytics plugin.

Google analytics is a nice feature to know more about your readers. i.e. number per day, number of new visits, time spent on your blog, number of page clicks, etc. I know there is way more that this plugin can do for me than even I have figured out. . .

It is another plugin for your blog.

And it can be a little tricky to set up. . .

First install  “Google Analytics for WordPress” plugin.

Next, go into your settings and paste in your profile UA #/ID from Google Analytics.

To find your UA ID, go to the first dropdown in the Dashboard View of Google Analytics and click on the Accounts List button. You should be taken to a list of your blog with the UA code. It will look like this –> UA-00000000-0

Once you had your code pasted into the plugin, hit the “Update Google Analytics Settings” button.

And you should be good to go! After a couple minutes or hours, depending on traffic on your site, you should be able to see some activity on your  blog’s Google Analytics site!!

The only negative is that Google Analytics doesn’t look backward in time, but it will start tracking for you going forward.

Do you have any blog tips that you have learned recently??

I know that I couldn’t afford your prices – you are too good. Trade blog services for baked goods? 😉

  6. Man I love the simplicity of Blogger, but I have become pretty aware of the fact that I might not be getting the same traffic had I started out in WordPress…there’s not really a way I know of to do tags and SEO and all that good stuff. But, like I said, Blogger is super easy to work with!
