Hello from Marco Island

We made it!

We are in Marco Island, Florida for the next 5 days. I am here for a medical conference (Essentials in Primary Care Winter Conference) and Scott and Luke decided to tag along. The conference is mostly from 8-12 each day, so that leaves us lots of time for the beach!

We had about a 3 hour flight from Minneapolis to Fort Myers. Powered by Caribou Coffee. Winking smile

Luke did really good on the flight. He was happy to play at my feet for the first half of the flight and then slept the second half. And didn’t seem to have any problems with take off or landing.

We picked up our rental car –> Scott’s choice – a charger. . .

And drove to Naples, Florida for lunch and a quick Target stop. And then drove the rest of the the way to Marco Island. About an hour trip total.

We checked in, checked out our hotel room. Totally baby friendly – even the balcony! Luke loves the huge floor to ceiling mirror and has his handprints all over it already.

We took a quick trip to check out the beach. Gorgeous and lots of shells. we just did a quick dip in the sand and water. Luke’s initial reaction to the waves coming up to his feet was not favorable. i.e. he cried!

Not sure if it was surprise or water temperature. I am excited to be out there when it is 80 degree tomorrow and take him in the water. . . hopefully – I have no idea how cold the water is!

Then, a quick walk around to check out the hotel property and back to the room. Shower for Luke. . . no tub in the room, but he enjoyed crawling around the tiled shower enclosure! And bottle and bed. Then, pizza and the Super Bowl for us! Looking forward to more adventures tomorrow.

Hope you had a great weekend too. Smile

Enjoy the sun and the ocean! I grew up on the ocean – now I’m next to Lake Superior, which is awesome, but I sometimes miss the real deal… Have a great trip!
