Last full day

I think it is nice that they ask your name at Starbucks and write it on your cup. That way, you aren’t just a venti nonfat caramel macchiato but “Katie”! I think they do this other places too, but not in MN.

We ate lunch in the hotel overlooking the water. ..  gorgeous!

And then headed out to the beach again. . .

I have no idea why it took us so long to figure out that afternoon nap time is the perfect time to be on the beach. Luke naps in his stroller and we get the sun! After he woke up, we played in the sand for a little while.

And then some more play time in the pool.

And a HOT and sweaty 4 mile run. Man,  I don’t know how those of you who live in Florida do it!

And dinner! We ate in the Hilton restaurant, Sandcastles. Unfortunately, it was just ok. There was sand in the scallops, portions were laughably small, and service was just ok. Thankfully, Scott did have a good steak that saved the meal.

And it gave us a reason to get dessert via room service later. Smile Reminder to myself to never order room service again, the service charges are ridiculous!

Can’t believe we have to leave today. . . boo! Back to the cold winter in MN. The silver lining. .. I think we are both looking forward to sleeping in our own bed, seeing Abby, and not worrying about running out of diapers, wipes, clothes, etc for the baby!

It was! I love creme brulee. . . I have everything at home to make it, but just never have – so it is our go-to dessert when we are eating out.

  2. Looks fabulous! I live in TX so it is always hot here…. but I don’t know how people run in cold haha. It’s 59 in the mornings and I’m in a full on sweat suit! Enjoy every second of your vacation!

  3. Your little man looks like such a beach bum. Too cute! I HATE gritty scallops. They totally ruin the meal :/

  4. You all look like you’ve gotten a tan! Well, not Luke, but that’s probably just the good parenting shining through! Prepare yourselves to come home…don’t know how far south the snow is but we got a pretty decent amount up in Duluth!

  5. It looks like you guys had a fantastic time! And you’re right – running in the heat is tough stuff! That’s awesome that you guys were able to squeeze in some miles while on vacation though!

    Love the family photo! Beautiful!

Looks like you had such a nice vacation! And awesome job getting all those runs it too, even in the heat. I have a hard time with super hot weather runs.

  7. What a fun day on the beach! Isn’t it nice that you not only get to enjoy the vacation, but you get to enjoy looking forward to returning home? 🙂
I am in Flagstaff, AZ and (though I am in Mesa for soccer) we got 5 inches of snow last night. I’m not looking forward to returning tomorrow evening (I guess our stay wasn’t long enough for me to look forward to going home!).
P.S. I’d rather run in the cold (not wind and not FROZEN COLD) every day of the week and twice on Sunday vs. the HEAT and HUMIDITY. But that’s just me!
