Marco Island Monday

Our first full day in Marco Island!

I started it off with spending the morning at my conference – learning about high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease and skin cancer. It was tough though, to be inside a conference room while the sun was shining. Scott and Luke kept busy, playing and went on a long walk. We met up for lunch and then some beach time. At first, Luke didn’t like the sand at all.

And then he realized there were shells that were fun to “eat”. He did some crawling around, mostly sand eating though.

And too cool for his sunglasses. . .

By the time we were done – about 20 minutes – he was covered in sand. Literally head to toes!

Quick shower in the room, then off for a run. Thankfully, Luke likes to hang in the jogging stroller. We covered 5miles of the island. Unfortunately, it was mostly away from the beach and views, but it was still a nice run. 64 degrees with a slight wind –> pretty much perfect running weather!

Then, we headed off to dinner. CJ’s on the Bay came recommended to us from the hotel. We had ‘gator rangoon’ – which was pretty much like a gator cream cheese puff. Scott really liked them! And we had some super yummy nachos. Unfortunately, I ordered the mahi mahi and it was not good at all. I actually had better mahi in Duluth, MN than at this place! Total bummer. But the best part of the night was cupcakes from this cute cupcake place that we ran past on our run. So perfect for me – literally running for cupcakes! It was Simply Cupcakes of Marco Island.

We were greeted by the owner, who explained all their fresh made that day cupcakes by her and her brother. We immediately zeroed in on the key lime and mint chocolate.

Now, we are just chilling and watching the Bachelor. .. ok I am watching and Scott is mocking. Winking smile

  4. I would give anything for a 64 degree run right now! Actually, I’d give anything for it to be above freezing so I could ACTUALLY run outside in MN 😉 Have so much fun!! You all look like you’re having a blast.

  5. Lukie called. He said he’s having fun but he wouldn’t have eaten so much sand if he had known cupcakes were coming.
