My first Lara Bar

Monday again. . . How’d that happen?

To make it a little more manageable, I stopped at Caribou for my caramel skim latte this morning.

Lunch:

I got some Asian inspired soup from the hospital cafeteria – not good! So, I instead I had a cheese stick, Chobani peach yogurt, and my FIRST Larabar!

Cashew cookie

I wasn’t sure what to expect. I don’t know if I really like dates, but I know I like cashews (the only two ingredients). I was pleasantly surprised! It was good. A little lacking in flavor, tasted like mild cashews. But, I think I would have it again. The only thing I don’t love about it, is the calories – about 220. A little high for a snack, especially because the bar is on the smaller size. Even though it was a smaller lunch, it definitely kept me full until my snack before CTI.

Snack: Kashi granola bar

CTI – Cardio Tone Interval

Mat, weights (I used 8#s), stability ball

Circuit 1
Mummy kicks (forward kicks with arms extending forward alternating)
Mountain Climbers on floor
Squat with upright row
Ab crunch with weights, crunch weights to knees (knees at 90 degrees to ground), then extend weights overhead as you extend one leg out toward the ground
Pushups with feet on stability ball

Circuit 2
Jump rope, alternating 1 foot with 2 feet
Reverse lunge with front kick
Lay on stability ball with shoulder blades on ball, put weights on hips, lower and raise hips from floor to ceiling
Side tricep pushup
Standard crunch on stability ball

Circuit 3
Shuffle side to side with oblique twist holding ball
Wall sit with bicep curl
Squat position, holding ball, tap ball on floor and reach to ceiling
Kneel with one knee on ball, hands flat on floor, extend other leg towards ceiling, swap and do other side
Superman banana – lay on back and reach arms/legs up, hold x3 sec, turn over onto tummy, hold arms/legs up x3 sec, turn over and repeat

The BEST part of my day. . . .

After I was done with class, one of the members came up to me and said that she had a present for me. I had no idea what she could have brought me! Then, she handed me this shirt.

It is from Caribou! Her son used to work at Caribou and last week during our warm up, I told her that I liked the Caribou shirt she was wearing. She said that she had been cleaning out her closet and found this shirt and thought I might like to have it. I said of course! And gave her a BIG hug. What a nice thing for her to do!

After a quick shower, dinner came together quickly thanks to leftovers from last night.

A salad containing:

  • arugula
  • butter lettuce
  • grapes
  • celery
  • carrots
  • blue cheese crumbles
  • pineapple brat
  • light honey french dressing

On tap for tonight: White Chocolate Raspberry cheesecake from last night and Greek. . . we just found it on the Netflix DVR and are going to check it out. My little sister says it is addicting!
