They were nice enough to send me one to check out and review for the blog. I have been on the look out for for-ever for a new gym bag. My old one, that I have been using for 10+ years, was in dire need of an upgrade. And when I saw this bag, I knew that would be perfect.
I had a few criteria.
#1. Not too big. It’s a fine line for a gym bag – you need it to be big enough for all your stuff, but you don’t want it to be too big so that you are lugging around a bag big enough that your workout begins before you even get to class, right? This bag is perfect. It is big enough for 1-2 pairs of shoes, my water bottle, music, towel, and a bunch of little things that are needed (batteries, chapstick, pens, hair binders, etc.)
#2. Lots of pockets. #necessary
#3. Pink! I know, I am so predictable, but it just makes me happy.
#4. Place for my shoes. –> now that I am a spin instructor, I often have tennis shoes + cycling shoes. So I need a dedicated space that I can put my sweaty shoes.
#5. Water bottle holder – a few weeks before I got this bag, I had a water bottle “incident” because my old bag had no specific place for one.
#6. Cross-body style – sometimes Luke comes with me to play while I am teaching and carrying him in and out of the YMCA is a two hand job. So, I am a huge fan of bags that can be worn cross-body style.
The bag arrived on a Wednesday night and I didn’t waste anytime. That baby came to the YMCA with me that night to teach BODYPUMP.
And it is now my designated gym bag.
It has a few awesome additions that make it the perfect bag:
All Apera Bags have:
** antimicobiral product protection to help prevent the growth of bacterial odors on the bag
** vented compartments
** wipeable lining
** washable inset
I am even thinking I will have to get one for our next diaper bag!
Also, I loved it so much and it was the perfect size, that I emptied it out and made it my carry-on bag for our trip to Maui.
It worked really well. The shoe pockets held an extra water bottle and fruit. There was more than enough space for my laptop, magazines, book and snacks. And all the extra pockets came in handy for the little things that need to come along when you travel – and of course, to hold my chapstick. My only complaint about it was that I loaded it up pretty good, so after hauling it around the airport for an hour waiting for our flight, my shoulder was a little sore. . .but that was probably my own fault given how much stuff I had brought along. #girlproblems And that’s what husbands are for. . . #amiright
Scott was carrying it through the airport security line and the lady behind me tapped me on the shoulder and said “tell your husband I really like his pink bag.”
AND I have a giveaway for R4C readers too!! Awesome, right?
