Ninja Ultima

Remember back in September when I went to the Healthy Living Summit? Well, Ninja was one of the awesome sponsors. And I spent some time at their booth drooling over this awesome new Ninja Ultima blender. After explaining that I was in desperate need of a new blender, they were super amazing and offered to send me one of them to review!

Oh happy day. . .

I was pretty excited because I don’t think I have ever been congratulated for getting an appliance. Winking smile

Luke loved it too. . .

The first thing this healthy living blogger made. .. a mint chocolate chip shake. Yup – ice cream and milk. Shake perfection. It’s all about balance. Winking smile

Since then, I have been a smoothie making machine. It comes with 2 single serving cups, which are perfect to blend up and take to work for part of my lunch. Also, really good to blend one up for Luke.

The awesome points of this blender are

#1. it can blend anything.
#2. the single serving cups and blender attachment – it’s super nice to blend up a smoothie and to not have to use the whole blender.
#3. The size (which you will see is also a downside) but the good point about that is you can make a whole lot of whatever you want to make in this thing.
#4. In comparison to my old blender, where I always had to stop, stir, and re-start, this just does it with no stopping and starting needed.
#5. Multiple speeds.
#6. The price. For the quality and capability, I think this is a really great price for what you get.
#7.  It’s pretty. Smile

There are a few downsides to this blender.

#1. It is humongous. It doesn’t fit underneath my kitchen cabinets, so has to strategically be placed. Also, I haven’t quite decided if I want it to sit out all the time. It is super nice looking, but just takes up quite a bit of space.
#2. It’s loud. Like, makes Luke cry, loud. The single serve cups are super quick and easy, so by the time his lower lip starts to quiver, I am done. And he knows that the blender makes smoothies, so it’s all good.
#3. Super sharp blades. I haven’t cut myself yet, but I think it is only a matter of time. ..

I am super excited to make these superfood snack bars. They had them at HLS13 and I was super sad when I tasted mine and realized I had only grabbed one instead of 26. . .

  3. That blender looks amazing! I’ve seen so many reviews…. I think it will be my next blender! I love that it is a big blender and individual cups in one.

I remember when you instagramed a photo of that milkshake!!! It looked so good.

  4. That blender looks awesome! I have a magic bullet, which works well for me because I’m usually just making smoothies and stuff for myself. For big things like soups I use an immersion blender so I can blend right in the pot. I’m totally craving a mint chocolate chip milkshake now!

  5. Thanks for linking to the snack bars! I loved mine from HLS and didn’t know the recipe was out there. I plan to make these ASAP, although without a Ninja blender.
