Running Favorites

Runner Girl Revisited did a cool post a while back about her running favorites. . . and I thought it would be fun to share my favorites too.

My all time favorite place to run is Summit Ave. I have done too many runs up and down that road to even count, it’s the place where I have had some of my best (and worst!) runs, and it is where Scott proposed to me.

My favorite race was my 1st marathon in Green Bay, WI. I was well trained, foolish and naive with having never run a full marathon, and had an awesome support team with my Dad and soon to be husband.

My favorite distance is 5 miles. It is the distance that tells me what kind of running shape I am in, depending on how hard or easy it is. It is done in less than an hour. And is my go-to running distance.

My favorite running partner is anyone. I love to run with people. I have logged so many miles with my Dad, we have had so many conversations that we would have never had, if it wouldn’t have been out on a 10+ mile run.

I got Scott into running and doing a few half marathons and he always challenges the pace of our runs.

I love running with Abby. She only likes running on her terms these days – i.e. off leash – so I don’t get to run with her as much as I used to but when I do, I just love seeing her race all around, sniffing everything, so full of puppy energy and so happy to be on a run.

And of course, this question wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Sue and Bob – both always full of stories that make the miles fly by. Winking smile

  1. Sue

Always enjoy the miles we spend together. Love ya!

  2. Cute post! 5 miles is my favorite running distance too. It is far enough for a good, challenging workout but short enough to not take up your entire day. AND…. we have the same Garmin watch 🙂

  6. running with your dad must be so great. i can’t imagine running with mine. we can toss the ball around. or mow a lawn together (my mom makes him push mow their HUGE lawn instead of a riding one – so he has 2 and whenever we are around he’ll recruit matt or i to help).
summit. the one and only run their was the twin cities marathon. have you done that one? maybe we can do that one together someday.
i did 5 miles today actually. i planned for 4 but 5 felt a little better:) go to distance for sure.
p.s. you’ve been nominated for the liebster award. check out my blog for details!
