Hello! My name is Holly and I blog at http://pink-runner.com! I am a huge fan of Katie’s blog and was very excited when she asked me to write a guest post for Running4Cupcakes!
As a music teacher, my school year officially finishes in June. Between teaching music lessons, taking grad classes and teaching marching band, I set a goal to add cross training into my workouts! I have run 3 half marathons and 1 full marathon and I am currently training for my next half marathon. Before this summer, I was training for my first full marathon and running all the time. I was lucky to stay injury-free during training, but knew I needed to add different types of workouts to my schedule this summer.
I started riding my bike more often!
I joined a gym and started taking my favorite class, BodyPump! BodyPump is a barbell class that strengthens your entire body in a 60-minute workout. The class works all of your major muscle groups by using exercises such as squats, presses, lifts and curls choreographed to music. Each song focuses on a specific muscle group! It is so much fun!
Spinning class! Although it can be boring when my friend doesn’t go with me, spinning gives me a great cardio workout and works different muscles.
