Friday Favorites: Moving Chaos

This week has been crazy.

Between working and getting sick and being in Wisconsin to move and getting the house ready for the movers to come TODAY, I am done. Ready for the weekend. Ready to order pizza and sit on the couch. Let me say that again – sit on the couch. We haven’t had a couch to sit on in over a month! I’m not naïve, today is going to be a long day with boxes, unpacking, cleaning, organizing and chaos. But it will all be worth it.

Wish me luck and enjoy my favorites from this week. . .

wicked good salads from Panera. This one was the ancient grape, arugula and chicken salad.

5:15AM BODYPUMP class with my newest Fabletics capris.

Making paint choices. And getting the painting done!

I painted Luke’s room. His favorite color – green!

Drinking an iced latte while driving with the heated steering wheel on. . . #minnesotalife

Reading books and taking silly selfies with my favorite little boy.

Friday Favorites: Fabletics + running + little boy haircuts

Fist pump for Friday!!

I’m off to spend the day painting the new house with Scott. . . wish us luck!

Here are my smiles from this week. . .

Spending time with my Mom. Like I mentioned on Tuesday, my Dad is in the hospital right now. . . he had the bone marrow transplant on Wednesday! So, Luke and I have been stopping by my Mom’s house when we can to get her a little Lukie time.

Little boy haircuts. Seriously, he looks SO grown up!

Abby’s love for new toys. This one was a birthday gift from Laura and her current favorite.

New Fabletics carpis. You guys already know that I l.o.v.e the salar capri/leggings and I am in love with this pattern.

Lazy Sunday mornings with my new favorite Netflix addiction – How to Get Away with Murder. The only problem? There is only one season right now!

Family runs.

Watching these boys have too much fun throwing pumpkins into the woods. . .

70 degree day in November in Minnesota + a 5 mile run = perfection.

What have you been loving lately? Plans for the weekend?? I have to work all. weekend. long. . . good thing I love what I do! Smile

Friday Favorites: 6/5/15

Happy Friday!

Another week done. On to the weekend!!

On tap this weekend – cross fit on Saturday, Farmer’s Market, unpacking boxes, family runs, meal prep (getting ready for the 24 day challenge starting on Monday!), vacuuming out my car (after the cookie explosion of 2015), and celebrating our 7 year anniversary on Sunday!

BTW – thanks for making me feel better yesterday about my issues with sweet potato skins and sleeping with my socks off. . . and don’t say I didn’t warn you about googling banana strings. Winking smile

So, now, let’s get to it. . .

My Fabletics capris. I have never been so thankful for capris until I went for a run on Tuesday and had some super awful chafing on my upper thigh, which, btw, it has been so long since I’ve had that issue. . . anyway, there was no way that any working out was going to be happening in shorts, thankfully, I am in love with these capris and these ones too. Smile

Nurses and doctors. I am so thankful for the awesome staff that has been taking care of my Dad. He is back in the hospital today for round 3 of chemo. Fingers crossed that the bone marrow biopsy goes well today and that there is good news from it.

My new gym. (Locals – it’s Highland Fitness!) Such a nice surprise in the mail this week. Totally unexpected. And super nice that they “get me.”

This face.

Seriously, it is just amazing to me how he melts my heart every day. Of course, he is responsible for all my grey hair, but at least he’s cute. Winking smile

And this face.

Scott has been able to be home this week! He had training about 90 minutes away from Eau Claire, so he drove back and forth instead of just staying in a hotel. And it was wonderful. Looking forward to having our little family under one roof again someday soon.

And I can’t forget this face.

She has been all about playing tug this week. Normally, she loved to play tug but this week, every time I turn around she is trying to force a stuffed animal into my hand to play. I seriously, cannot believe that she is 10 years old. . . she still has all of her puppy energy!

Your turn. . . favorites from this week? Plans for the weekend??

TYT#17 – Shopping!

Shhhhh don’t tell my husband. I’ve been shopping. Winking smile

A new shirt from Reebok. Double score because it’s also a Les Mills tank.

New shoes for teaching BODYPUMP from Asics. At first I thought they were too pink, but then I remembered there is no such thing as too much pink! Winking smile

IMG_3459 - CopyIMG_3460 - Copy

And they have the cutest pink ribbon laces!!

My new favorite black leggings. OMG you guys. These salar leggings from Fabletics are literally my new favorite. I have been wearing them all-the-time. They look amazing. Super comfortable. And totally flattering. btw – it is super tough to take a good pic of black leggings. . . just trust me that my husband has been checking out my butt A LOT in these pants. . . Winking smile

IMG_3479 - CopyIMG_3494 - Copy

New boots. The search is finally over. I had been looking for brown boots for literally the past 3+ years. I was super picky. They had to be the right shade of light brown, have a buckle detail and a zipper in the back. And be able to fit my athletic bodypump calves. Winking smile These Steve Madden boots are perfection.

Lulu pink shorts. Another thing that has been on my “I want” list for-ev-er – a cute pair of PINK! lulu running shorts. I was browsing at Lulu last weekend and found this pair. Love love love love love them. Smile

And for my husband’s sake, that is all. Smile

Have you been shopping lately??

Weekend Update: 10/12/14

Hey Monday. Craziness.

We were busy this weekend. And it was a nice busy. Not with anything that HAD to be done, but things that we wanted to do. And that’s the best kind of busy.

Luke and I went to the St. Peter Co-op.

My favorite snack. Apple chunks and almond butter.

Run. In my new Fabletics capris – more details in Treat Yourself Tuesday tomorrow. ..  (spoiler alert – they are the best capris ever!)

Dinner – spaghetti squash with ground turkey, onions and spaghetti sauce.

Saturday morning = snuggles. Love that he comes in our room first thing in the morning when he wakes up with his favorite stuffed animal (Dr. Jack puppy), his blanket and pillow to snuggle.

Went to an awesome event here in town put on by Howe-To Fitness. Their launch of BODYPUMP 91 – outside! So. much. fun.

Followed by a 4 mile run with this turkey.

Sent out some Jamberry samples (<—have you tried them? If not, email me at running4cupcakes@gmail.com and I’ll get you a free sample!)

And then a trip to the apple orchard. . .

And then tons of errands. . . Sam’s Club, Cub Foods, Target, Kohls. . .

and finally Chipotle. Selfies while we waited in line.

Sunday morning was a beautiful 50 degrees and sunny. Headed out for 4 miles.

And Sunday afternoon meals football + food prep.

And OMG the last 2 minutes of the Packers vs Dolphins = amazing. Go Pack Go. Smile

Apple chips!

Puppy naps.

Apple carrot juice for the family. (5 big carrot sticks, 1 apple + 1/2 lemon)

Family walk.  . . to the park.

And then typical Sunday night stuff – dinner, bath time, laundry, getting ready for the week and early bedtime! Smile

Hope you had a great one! What were you up to??

And because it was pretty marvelous, I am linking up with Katie for Marvelous in my Monday!

Friday Favorites: 10/10/14

Whew. Friday. Thank goodness. Right?

Looking forward to a weekend with a short to-do list and time to recover from the week!

Here are my favs from this week:

**Trying new recipes – Hummus crusted chicken and butternut squash soup – both delicious and super easy and challenge friendly. win. Smile

**My immersion blender.

Bonus points because it’s pink and my sister, Jenny, gave it to me (thanks Jen!). The butternut squash soup recipe called for me to put it from the crockpot into the blender. Ummm heck no, I just put my immersion blender right in the crockpot and woosh = soup. <love>

**Fun tags on Instagram. Danielle tagged me for a #widn (What I’m Doing Now) and so I snapped this picture.

Dinnertime in our house. Luke “helping”, pants optional. Winking smile

**Making protein balls. And trying a new to me protein powder from Protein Milk Shake Bar (<– how cute is that name?).

I love mixing up protein balls for a quick snack before my workouts. Usually, I use AdvoCare’s post-workout recovery (in chocolate!), but they were nice enough to send me a sample to check out and try their chocolate mousse flavor.

I just mix drippy almond butter, protein powder and unsweetened shredded coconut together.

You want them to seem a little dry, the more you mix, the softer they will become until you are able to shape them into balls.

I often use my hands to combine all the ingredients and that tends to be easier and faster. Add in a little more almond butter if you need more “liquid” and more protein powder if you need more dry ingredients.

I’ll admit that I am partial to the AdvoCare post workout recovery – their chocolate flavor is super delicious, but I liked the Protein Milk Shake Bars chocolate mousse flavor too, it was a bit more protein powder-y. . .but I really want to try their cupcake batter, that would be right up my alley!

**This package from Fabletics.

Don’t worry, I’ll share pics and my thoughts as soon as I have a chance to check them out!! Smile

With the assistance of my husband – aka the random number generator –> the winner of the Krusteaz giveaway is ..  . lucky #2 – Becky!

And don’t forget to enter my Rese Activewear giveaway for a pair of awesome capris!!

What are you up to this weekend? What made you smile this week??

Fall Clothing Wish List

Cooler temps have me dreaming of some new things for my closet. . .

Skinny jeans – Would you believe I don’t have a pair? I really didn’t think I could pull them off until I got a pair in my most recent Stitch Fix box. . . unfortunately, those didn’t fix exactly right (which skinny jeans really really need to), so I am on the look out for  a pair. Any suggestions on where to look? I really like these from Banana. . .

Dark-Wash Skinny Jean

Boots – I have been drooling over Frye boots for at least the past 3 years but have never pulled the trigger. .  . this might be the year. Winking smile

Scarf – I think scarfs are the perfect fall accessory . . . and there is always room in your closet for another one, right?

Dot Print Scarf

Running leggings – like these ones (Salar legging) from Fabletics.

And the top that comes with it is pretty cute too. . .

Now if only I had an unlimited budget to buy everything. . . . Winking smile

What’s on your fall wish list?

Also, I am linking up with Becky for Treat Yourself Tuesday!
