I have been holding out on you.
I have some new running gear that I have been loving lately, and I have been selfishly not sharing my recent finds with you.
When Becky and I went shopping at the Mall of America, I got 2 new tops at Lululemon. Both are awesome.
I was also lucky enough to get this top (Glycerin Print Support Tank II) from Brooks Running to check out, review, and #runhappy.
Of course I love it because of the pink in it. But it also has a built in sports bra. . . which usually don’t work for me and I have to wear a normal sports bra anyway –> But with this top, it is well fitted and everything stays where it is supposed to without the extra sports bra. It has a cute pocket in the back for keys/cell phone/etc. I wore it for my long 9 mile run and it stayed put with no chaffing.
I am usually an Asics running shoe girl, but the latest model of Asics (gel nimbus 14) didn’t work for me, so I had to try something new. . . and I checked out Mizunos.
I love love love the colors! They are a really nice shoe. The only difference from Asics is that there is less cushion and support in the forefoot. But once I did a few runs in them, I got used to the less cushion and really like this shoe. I still love my Asics but love these Mizunos too!!
I had the opportunity to check out SKORA shoes.
Have you heard of this brand?
Based in Portland, Oregon, SKORA builds premium, lightweight performance running footwear that encourage a more bio-mechanically correct, natural stride. The distinctive look and feel of SKORA footwear is based on the function and benefit of a minimalist design philosophy we call Run Real.
I have always wanted to check out a pair of minimalist shoes, but wasn’t sure where to start. And the nice SKORA people sent me a The Base to check out.
First of all, they are super cool. They don’t have laces, but a Velcro cross –strap. They hug your feet and provide a great fit. I have done a few runs in them. I like them, however, I am not sure that the minimalist running shoe is for me. I think I personally need a little bit more support. . . but, I love them for teaching BODYPUMP and aerobics.
For me, I think they are a great cross-training shoe. But I would highly recommend checking these shoes out if you are interested in a minimalist shoe.
Lululemon running shorts. Groovy Run Short.
Scott gave me this pair for my 31st birthday when we were in Chicago. They are my go-to pair of running shorts lately. Light and perfect for summer. Nice thick waistband. Pocket in the back.
Ellie little black capri. Perfect for running, aerobics, BODYPUMP, or pedicures.
I have been wearing these capris everywhere. They stay put. Super flattering. And nice, comfy fabric.
What are some of your current favorite workout gear pieces??
**Disclaimer: I was given the Brooks running top, Skora shoes and Ellie capris for free, but as usual, all opinions are 100% my own.**
