Happy Friday. . . of Labor Day weekend <—seriously, how??

We are headed to the Lake. . . looking forward to fruit pizza, swimming, and family time. Smile

I thought I’d pop in today to share a few of my recent favorites. . . Friday favorites are always my favorite posts to write and read!

Ever since my previous running sunglasses decided to take a swim in the lake. . . I’ve been looking for a new pair.  .. that won’t break the bank. I’d love to splurge on a pair of Oakleys. . . but I just can’t do it. Thank goodness, a friend told me about Goodr running sunglasses! They were sold out when I first heard about them, so, I preordered these cute pink ones!

Cherry spark. OMG you guys. It’s like drinking a cherry popsicle. While I don’t think anything can beat fruit punch as my favorite flavor, this is a really really close second!

Zella leggings. So, in my closet, I have lululemon, Athleta and Fabletics leggings. And to be honest, I love them all. But, I have another pair to add to the list. Zella are comfortable, figure flattering and cute! I snagged two pairs at the Nordstrom sale.

S’mores blondies. These are the ultimate summer BBQ dessert. I have made 3 batches in the last month. So good.

Foodie Favorites

Happy Wednesday!

HUMP DAY! LOL. That always make me laugh. Yup, I am a 13 year old boy on the inside. Winking smile 

Anyway, I wanted to share some of my recent eats and favs because I love seeing what other people are eating and making to get new ideas!

Fruit punch spark has been my jam lately.

Usually I’m an orange spark while working out, fruit punch in the morning and then sometimes an afternoon grape spark. #sparkproblems but lately, I’ve been loving fruit punch all. the. time. I will say that I am super excited to try the new limade flavor which is on it’s way to my house right now. I’ve heard amazing things about it. 

This smoothie combo from Carrots ‘n’ Cake. I’ve been trying to cut down on my caramel latte addiction and this smoothie is a great way to get a little taste of espresso without spending $5 at Caribou. And anything with almond butter is a winner for me.

Speaking of almond butter. . . why did it take me so long to jump on the date + almond butter train?

Deliciousness. It *might* be the perfect after dinner snack to satisfy my sweet tooth. 

And thanks to my friend Chris, I finally found a chia seed pudding recipe that rocks. And it’s super easy. 1/4 cup chia + 1 can light coconut milk. Mix well. Sit overnight. The perfect snack with berries. 

You know what is the easiest meal ever? Frittatas. Seriously, why don’t I make them all the time? I have been loving roasted sweet potatoes + veggies sauteed with a little coconut oil. Topped with eggs and finish in the oven for about 10 minutes. Dinner perfection. And it makes great leftovers! 

These. Crunchy. Salty. Perfection.

And you guys, have you tried RXBAR yet?

They are amazing. They are super yummy. I love eating them for an afternoon snack or after my workouts for some extra protein. And no B.S. ingredients. I don’t love how spendy they are, but that’s probably for the best. . . otherwise I might eat 6 per day. Winking smile I would highly recommend the chocolate coconut or chocolate sea salt. 

And carrot juice.

Honestly, I probably wouldn’t drag out the juicer as often as I do if it weren’t for Luke asking to make carrot juice. Seriously, kid wants to make it every day..  . so, I try to make sure we have the ingredients on hand to make it a few times per week. I always have to make 3 juices – one for me, one for Luke and one for Scott. Bonus points if there is extra for Luke to keep him from drinking mine after he drinks all of his. My go to combo is carrots (lots – probably about 1/2 of a big bag) + 2 apples + 1 lemon.

Weekending. . .

How it is Tuesday already? I have a crazy busy week this week so here’s to things flying by!

But first a quick look back to share my weekend with you. . .

Luke requested “carrot juice” – basically because he loves putting the carrots into the juicer. And he is SO careful when doing it.

And then he sucks down his glass faster than either of us and then proceeds to drink ours too. #toddlerproblems

and OMG finished House of Cards season 4. and whaaaaat?? I cannot wait until 2017!?! for season 5. I hate and love that show all at once.

And now Scott and I need something else to watch on Netflix – suggestions??

Virtual Date

hey there. happy thursday!

how are you? want to take a break and grab a coffee?

If we were going to get coffee, I’d just ask you to come over to my house so we can drink spark instead. because seriously, spark is so much better than coffee. Ummm yes, I know, I know. It’s not the same. And it isn’t, you’re right (like usual!), nothing can replace my caramel latte from Caribou. BUT, I would tell you that spark is delicious AND gives me more energy and focus than coffee does and is my go-to morning drink. Yes, yes, let’s not get crazy, there is room in life for both spark and coffee. Smile 

whew, now that we settled that – do you want some fruit punch spark or grape? or let’s be honest, I also have cherry, watermelon, pink lemonade, orange and pomegranate. Yes, I realize I have a spark problem. But lately, I am ALL about the fruit punch. Fruit punch in the morning and then 1/2 scoop of orange for teaching BODYPUMP.

Anyway, cheers to Thursday and for making time to spend a few minutes chatting. and I would tell you how Luke loves to cheers anything. cheers ice cream cones, cheers smoothie cups, cheers sippy cups. it is adorable.

And then I would tell you how I am moving tomorrow. To Wisconsin. 3 hours away. And, I am sad,  excited and nervous for what’s to come. . .

This whole decision process has been bittersweet. It is so hard to leave my current job, my bodypump class at the YMCA, our new house and friends. But, I am excited for what’s to come. I am looking forward to starting a new job. While I loved my old job, not everything was perfect – heck – it never is, right? But I am hoping that this new clinic will be better for me. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can find a new place to teach BODYPUMP in Eau Claire. . . but it won’t be the same. I will miss my Tuesday/Thursday crew at the YMCA.

The hardest part will be leaving Luke and Scott. There aren’t any schools open for Luke right now, so he will be staying with Scott during the week. And I would tell you that I am having the hardest time with it. Thankfully, I know that I couldn’t be leaving him in better hands than with his Daddy. I would ask you to pray for us with this new transition and that everything will work out how God intends it. 

And then I would move on to some lighter topics, because whoa, I need to get my mind off of moving! 

I would tell you that I am sorta doing the Whole30.

My sister, Laura, started on Sunday and I am SO proud of her. And I wanted to support her and do the Whole30 myself, but remember my spark addiction? Well, I am doing a spark version of the Whole30. At least to start. It was really holding me back to commit to the whole thing right now with no coffee and no spark. So, I decided to do what would work best for me. And that is spark. Smile

I really loved the comments on my It Starts With Food book review post. And while I would encourage you to read it, I would clarify that the Whole30 isn’t a forever thing. It’s a 30 day nutritional reset where you avoid some food groups, so that you can get a better understanding of how they may be affecting your body. I love this book because while it suggests to avoid food groups for the Whole30 and perhaps longer, depending on how they affect you, it’s all about finding your perfect balance. And they have a whole section on how to reintroduce food groups so you can really determine what affects you and how. I love clean eating. I love the way it makes me feel. I know that I am healthier because of it. And I really have AdvoCare to thank for introducing me to it. I am intrigued by the Whole30 plan because it takes clean eating to the next level and can help you understand your body better. Who wouldn’t want that? Anyway, I know, that drinking spark is going to limit my official results. And perhaps in the future, I might do a full Whole30, but for now, I am doing what I need to do – and that’s all that matters, right?

Ok, whoa, sorry. Didn’t mean to do a Whole30 rant on you. Smile 

But, OMG – did I tell you that I am going to try Cross Fit?!? There is a box in Eau Claire that I am going to check out. I am excited and a little intimidated. Have you done CF – any advice??  

And finally, I am totally addicted to Revenge.

Like, whoa. We finished Orange is the New Black. And how come you didn’t tell me it was only 2 seasons so far? Totally dying. I looked it up and it looks like they are going to release season 3 this summer. But, anyway, thankfully Revenge is good. Like really good. Check it out.

Friday Favorites: 11/21/14

Whew. Friday. Yes!!

I have to work this weekend but looking forward to movie night tonight, grocery store shopping to stock up for Thanksgiving dinner and snuggling in front of the fire.

#3. Spark!!

I have been drinking spark on a regular basis for 6+ months now and I LOVE it. I couldn’t imagine my day without it. I start pretty much every day with one. I will drink a second one in the afternoon at work sometimes if I need some extra energy to get through my afternoon or to help avoid all the treats in the break room.

I will otherwise have a second one before/during/after my workouts. Usually with teaching bodypump after work, I mix up a full blender bottle (24 ounces) and drink about 1/3 before my workout, 1/3 while teaching and the last 1/3 afterwards. It gives me the perfect amount of energy and hydration to get through my afternoon, teach and get home! 

#4. Les Mills Good Protein Energy Balls.

OMG love. Like so so so good. The chocolate ones are like a chocolate dream and the vanilla has a great flavor and pairs so great with the peanut butter. I have been eating them for breakfast and afternoon snacks. Delicious. Super glad I made a double batch last weekend. Winking smile

Weekend Update: 7/13/14

Wow – that weekend just flew by! I am hoping this next week flies by because on Thursday my best friend, Peggy, and her family are coming to visit for the week!! I . cannot. wait. Smile 

Started my weekend with AdvoCare 10 day challenge – Day 6 = grape spark + catalyst + probiotic

which because of a poorly marked course, was actually just 2.5 miles. But we still had a good time.

Luke is doing pretty good in his big boy bed. . . he loves to curl up in the corner of the bed, which makes him look so small!

Weekend Update: Country Fest 2014

Tuesday? I cannot complain after having the last 5 days off of work and heading to Country Fest over the weekend!! I am linking up with Becky today for TYT – because this weekend was full of treats. Smile

The weekend started on Thursday. We loaded up the car and headed to the lake. . .but with a quick spark delivery stop.

Friday Favorites: 5/23/14

woo hoo for Friday, long weekend and my birthday weekend!! Smile

We are headed to the Lake for the first time this summer. And it’s my birthday on Monday. So, it’s going to be a good one! I am off to pack and get ready to go, but here are the things that made me smile this week. . .

Friday Favorites: 5/2/14

Happy Friday!! I am super excited about this weekend – we are having Luke’s 2nd birthday party on Saturday. I am excited to have friends and family over to help Luke celebrate and eat cake! Other than that, we are continuing to get things done around the house, unpacking boxes, hanging pictures and shelves and continuing to get settled. It is definitely starting to feel like home. And I love it. Smile 

Here are my favorites from this week. . .

My first big jug of Spark – fruit punch! Grape is on it’s way next. My 2 favorite flavors. Still drinking it every morning instead of coffee. Really, I just prefer it. It makes me feel better than my daily latte every did.

Teaching BODYPUMP 88 this week. It’s been a little while since I’ve taught it and man, that is a great release and super good workout.

I am still continuing with clean eating after my challenge ended last week. I probably ate my body weight in pizza and cookies last weekend and my body remembered how crappy I feel after eating like that. So, Monday morning back to clean eating – also supporting Laura with her first challenge by clean eating and using spark in the mornings.

And I have been using this super easy clean salad dressing:
1/3 cup OJ
2 T balsamic vinegar
1 T EVOO
salt and pepper to taste.

Friday Favorites: 3/21/14

Friday. So happy. That is all. Smile

Here are my favs from this week. . .

BODYPUMP! I taught BODYPUMP 4 times this week. My normal M/W night class and then I subbed for the T/TH 5:30am class. And man, I am tuckered out. But in a “I killed it this week” kind of a way. . . And it is nice to feel that way!
