Treat yourself Tuesday #1

Treat Yourself Tuesday Badge

So, my good blend Becky started this awesome blog link up a few weeks ago. The idea is awesome. . . basically take some time in your week to do at least 1 thing for YOU. That can be anything from a good workout, a massage, fro yo. . . anything that makes you feel happy.

These are the directions for Treat Yourself Tuesday from Becky. . .

Do whatever feels best for you. Do something that will make you feel relaxed and loved and happy. Remember this is about treating YOURSELF – not your friends, not your family, not your spouse, not your dog – so make sure you really focus on you. Treat yourself well and treat yourself often so that you will become the best you possible and in turn be your best for others in your life!

In the past week, I can think of 3 things I did to treat myself!

I made these awesome pumpkin bars.

They are a fall staple in my house. They make a huge pan. And I had 2 for dessert last Friday night. YUM! Recipe coming your way on Thursday.

Laura and I went to see Wicked on Saturday. We splurged a little bit and got 8th row seats!! This was my second time seeing it, and it was as awesome as ever.

I watched Project Runway on TV in real time.

I normally DVR everything and watch it way later. Well, last Thursday, it was just Luke and I because Scott was out of town for a conference. And after Luke went to bed, Abby and I hit up the couch and I enjoyed just watching TV. Not watching while doing blog work, folding laundry, picking up on the commercials. Just watching TV. I can’t even tell you the last time I did that. And  it was nice.

How did you treat yourself this past week?

And thanks again to Becky for hosting an awesome link up!!

  3. Love this idea! I’ve been treating myself with gigantic Fountain Cokes after my long runs. There’s something about the bubbly goodness that hits the spot (and replenishes the lost salt!) after a long run. And I’m going to treat myself with a 90-minute massage after the Richmond Marathon. If I were independently wealthy, I think I’d get a massage every day. At least every week!

  11. I love this! We just got Netflix, and I’ve been trying to take some time to watch A show without doing anything else. It’s hard to make myself do it, but it’s so relaxing.

Also, I don’t know why it feels like such a guilty pleasure for me, but I try to sit in my deck and read a little every afternoon while our MN weather is still nice!

Yow know what Shannon, me neither!! I actually don’t like pumpkin at all. .. but these bars are amazing and don’t taste like you are eating a pumpkin. And the frosting is the bomb, so that helps too. πŸ™‚

  13. Like the new blog look! I actually sat and watched the Voice with a glass of wine last night and it was awesome. No other electronics, no magazines or blogs!

Thanks Katie!! And wasn’t it a little strange to be watching TV without anything else going on? It is nice, but not typical in our house!!

Great ways to treat yourself – my personal favorite… The pumpkin bars and the fact that you had 2 for dessert!!

  15. Those sound like great treats, especially the pumpkin dessert. I’m obsessed with all things Fall so those are right up my alley. My last treat was a buying a pair of boots online this afternoon while I was supposed to be working (oops). There was a sale and my birthday is next week so I figured I should just go for it. πŸ™‚

  16. Love the new blog look!!! I just posted how I treated myself. Hint: cupcakes were involved… And bodypump πŸ™‚
