TYT #7 – Maui + Luau

Happy Tuesday!! Mine is especially happy because we are still hanging out in Maui. Smile It’s ok to be 100% jealous, especially if you are buried under a foot of snow. . .

But I thought I would share some treat yourself moments from yesterday in Maui. . . (thanks to Becky for hosting another TYT link up!)

After my conference, I met up with Scott for a run – 5k with beach views.

Lunch with a mango-rita.

Afternoon of walking around checking out the sites, with a coldstone shake snack.

And then it was time for the highlight of our night – a Luau!!

Scott got lei’d by a half naked man. #storyofmylife #notreally #happilymarried

Brian and Scott. . .

Peggy and I. . .

Watching the uncovering pig ceremony. . .

And we decided that we needed to try all of the drinks they offered. .. I think we got about 7/10 of them – unfortunately with free drinks, you get what you pay for. . . the highlight – the pina colada!

Dinner was served buffet style with typical Hawaiian foods. And it was just ok. There was some strange things! The best thing was the salad with the Hawaiian onion dressing –> I am going to have to find some of that to bring home!

And then it was time for the show. They danced for about an hour. And Peggy and I wondered how in the heck those girls are able to move like that!

And then we headed back to the hotel. A little Olympics watching..  .not a huge fan of ice dancing but it was fun to watch the Americans win the gold!

Hope you are having a great Tuesday! What are you up to? Hopefully not shoveling snow. Smile

  3. I am jealous. However, I am having a great time building forts and playing with my super awesome nephew while his parents are out at a luau… 🙂 Best part of my day was when he did a little dance because he was so excited to see me. Definitely melted my heart. Miss you guys but have a great time!

  4. That sounds amazing! Sounds like an awesome time so far.

  8. I am so jealous. I wish I was on a beach right now! I could use a vacation. What does Hawaiian food consist of? I always think Spam…lol!

Thankfully, there was no spam! They had this purple starchy “sauce” that was mashed up taro root – and there seems to be banana bread everywhere.
