Weekend Update: 1/5/14

Hey all – happy Monday! After having short work weeks the last few weeks, I am a little nervous about a full week of work! Oh well, it is nice to get back to the routine of normal life. ..

Luke and I started the weekend with a trip to Sam’s Club. I put the bananas in the cart and Luke immediately said “Bannnnnnnnannnnnnna.” So, he ate 2 bananas while we were shopping. Winking smile

And then I came home to an awesome surprise in the mail from Caroline!

BODYPUMP 88 practice and my audience.

Then, we headed up to the cities. A little bit of hanging out time with Grandma Way and Grandpa Lee.

Saturday night we headed off to a friend’s Holiday party – 5th annual!!

It is so great to see everyone and catch up. . . and so fun to see all the kids play together too. . . here are a few pics from the evening.

The kids table at the party. . . perfect level for them!!

First game of the evening, everyone had to put on a necklace and then watch for  Nicole to take hers off and the last one to notice. . .

We all brought appetizers and snacks to share.

I brought monster cookie dough dip. . . and yes, it is as good as it sounds!  Recipe coming soon.  Winking smile

Nicole was a super awesome host for the kids too – they had story time and played a game of put the nose on the snowman.

Big smiles from Sam.

And then it was time for white elephant. This year we listened to Nicole read a story and every time she said specific words, we had to pass our presents right or left.

And then we listened to another story and did it again. . .

First round I got this awesome bowling tree ornament, and second round I traded that for a female nutcracker. Isn’t she pretty? She was from white elephant last year (2012!).

And then all the kids got their jammies on and it was time to head home.

Sunday was spent taking down Christmas decorations, cleaning, and watching the Packers/49ers game.

Here is what Luke thought of the game. . .

awww come on ref, get it right!

Oh no, oh no, oh no.. .  I can’t even watch.

Oh geez, I can’t believe it. How did they lose? Abby was thrilled as well. . .

We tired to cheer ourselves up with the tunnel Luke got for Christmas. . .

Overall a great weekend!! Now we are bracing ourselves for some cold weather. . . the high today is supposed to be –13! The governor cancelled all MN schools because of the weather and the wind chills. Now, that is COLD!! At least Luke is ready. . .

Hope it’s warmer where you are! What were you up to this weekend?

He was just so funny. . . of course he doesn’t really watch the TV so all those pics were in the span of about 2 minutes when I just happened to catch him sitting still. 😉

  2. That cookie dough dip looks delicious! My lazy butt was eating raw cookie dough from a package instead haha. I had a lunch/movie date with the husband this weekend, but otherwise just hung out and relaxed before getting back to the real world today!

  3. Haha, we got one of those tunnels for my wife’s baby cousin. She loved it and immediately started crawling through it with her big brother. Hers was a bumblebee and had the cutest little face on it!

Looks like an awesome weekend. I love extended holidays! 🙂
